Good News!

Firstly - no we aren't pregnant, that's what everyone seems to say when they hear good news!

I got another promotion at work!

Previously I had been floor control supervisor - so just making sure the store ran well during the day (with staff and breaks) also did the banking and closing procedures. The other girl was the stock control supervisor.

We had been having problems with her for awhile - the owners had been giving her lots of opportunities to make the best of the job but she's a troubled person and she took it out on her work, co-workers, customers, and even the delivery guys! For the last few months shes been threatening to quit and the owners have been making it easier for her to stay - finally she gave official two weeks notice on Thursday, but the owners decided it would be best for Friday to be her last day and just get her out.

So starting Monday I will be on salary (with four weeks annual holidays - but I'm only hear for another year, so I might just take two weeks), I will start working 9-530, learn openings, catering stuff, and most importantly stock control.

The owners wife who runs things will be taking over openings and will be working for a few weeks with us until we get someone else - this will be a point of stress for me and the other staff though as she is very difficult to work with (very nit-picky about everything) so hopefully no staff quit due to that.

Anwyays, the next few weeks will be stressful, but I think it will all be good!

Footy!

Ahh - I did have a whole long post about our first "Footy" (aussie rules football) game, but I can't get my word document to open. So for now I'll just say that we got to go to our first footy game last weekend and it was really cool....more to come...
