Thea - Three Years Old

Thea is 3!

Some little randoms about her:

  • Such a spunky kid.
  • She loves cuddles
  • She makes lots of funny faces
  • loves minions
  • loves anything crocodile (which she calls "bigabigas")
  • She would spend 4 billion hours on swing at the park if you let her.
  • She doesn't like loud noises.
  • She wants to do everything herself.
  • She's so fun to watch play, but the sounds she makes for some of the toys shes playing with can be SOOOO loud! haha

A perfect smile! Usually she squints her eyes when she smiles for pictures.

Sad because she wanted me to keep pushing her

She doesn't usually nap anymore, but if we've had a big morning she might sleep in the car on the way home.

Such a goof.  FYI, she wears these slippers out about 99% of the time!

On the double decker tour bus in the city

Eyes squinted and bangs too long ha

At the miniature train, it was too loud for her so she had her ears covered (and she was crying alot), so the conductor came over and told her he would only blow the horn once, and to sit at the very back so it wouldn't be too loud.
She had a great time and every day for about a week afterwards, when we said bedtime prayers or prayed before our meal she would thank Jesus that "it not too loud!"

Loves little tasks: here she is washing the walls.

She really wanted a piggy bank for her birthday, she loved the little hat on the one we got her!

Thea - 2 years old

In May, this little beauty turned 2!

Since Oliver has arrived (well, a little before) she started entering the terrible twos! haha.  Thankfully it's pretty cute.

She's learning a lot from her big sister: changing clothes a bazillion times a day, dancing all over the house, giving people the "bad face".

She recently gave up on wearing bibs and sitting in a high chair, so keeping her at the table for meals is a bit of a trial.

Thea didn't have a teddy of her own, like Elle and Finnian did, so I took the big kids to the store and let them choose one to give to Thea for her birthday

As "terrible" as she can be at this age, she can also be terribly cute! Can't wait to see her start talking more this year!

Getting ready for Olivers arrival, she enjoyed pushing Elles teddy around in this like a baby.

Thea - 12 Months Old (but a month late, so really a 13 month update!!)

12 months... but really 13 months for the picture! haha
She's one, she's one, she's one!  So crazy!

For her 12 month health check she was 10.29kg (22.6lbs) and 78.5cm (30.9 inches) long

On Easter Sunday, just before her 1st birthday, she took her first unassisted steps at her Godparents house, and then again at home, where I caught it on video... and especially as she got closer to 13 months she pretty much stopped crawling and today is pretty much only walking... and fast!
She has such long legs all of the sudden!  Since it's winter now I hardly see her legs except for quick changes and bathtime.
At 12 months she had 5 teeth - two on the bottom, and three on top (but missing one of her two front teeth!).  On her 13 month birthday she got a sixth tooth... on the bottom!  Still missing that top front tooth.

Feeding: Still breastfeeding, the day before she turned 13 months she only fed twice the whole day and I couldn't figure out why she was being so weird, but I think that 6th tooth was the culprit because she's back to normal now.  More and more now at 13 months she is wanting a spoon or fork to feed herself properly.

Sleeping: pretty much same as, same as. Waking around 6:15 for the day.  Going to sleep like a champ, but usually waking once or twice in the night - sometimes I only have to feed her one of those times, sometimes both times.  Naps amazingly.  Once around 9am for an hour tops, and then around 1:30 until at least 3pm, sometimes longer.

She has so much more personality now and is getting very communicative.  She points at things and grunts if she wants them. She waves hello, goodbye, goodnight.  She does action for twinkle twinkle little start (and pretty much the same actions for any song you sing to her).  Sometimes if some more upbeat music is on, or if we start singing, I might catch her dancing while she's doing whatever she's doing.  This is especially cute when she's just walking around and she starts bopping along to a song. When I say it's snacktime she'll walk to the kitchen and then plop herself down (since I normally would tell her "sit on your bum" before giving her the bowl of grapes or whatever).

The little cute tantrums she does are pretty funny.  Although I hope they stay "little" and "cute" for awhile!  Right now it's normally just a squawk to make you know she doesn't like whatever is going on (closing the back door before she makes a run for it, taking away some food or toy that was left from the big kid which isn't appropriate for her...) and now she will even lay flat on the ground and bang her head VERY SOFTLY on the floor.

She's just so cute and cuddly.  She's very physical, she likes to roll around on top of us when she comes into our bed in the morning, puts her head softly against mine and nuzzles around.  Seriously, I could just eat her up!

She's most definitely not my baby anymore, she's a full fledged toddler now!

and now a WHOLE bunch of random photos from when she turned 11 months until today, of Thea :)

The craft table is no longer a safe place from Thea... two people in particular are STILL trying to get used to this!

one day she found a bowl half full of Elle's mush that wasn't eaten...

...she was quite proud of herself!

cutest Easter bunny ever!

She got all giggly and kicked her feet a lot before she would even touch it

Yum!

Playing at Ikea. She LOVED this baby and another one - she was a bit frustrated that she couldn't carry both around at the same time.

Top teeth - still waiting for that front left one to pop through

And sick too... poor girly

Clever girlie

The other morning, Elle as usual didn't finish her mush (porridge) and I was feeling lazy and hadn't gotten around to clearing the table or doing dishes yet.  I was sitting at the desk and usually Thea pre-occupies herself with pulling ALL of the cloth diapers out of the change table.

The big kids were off playing together and then I heard Thea munching away, I turned to see this...

Thea had stood up to the table, and gotten Elle's bowl off the table

I should have grabbed the bowl from her right then, but she was so happy and just chowing down

Seriously, she was so proud of herself.

I had to get a video, because it was just so darn cute!

I let her pretty much just finish it off... I was happy as long as she didn't crawl around and smear it all over the living room.

I called the big kids over to see and Finn thought it was hilarious... Elle on the other hand was pretty upset "my mushy!  I want eat my mushy!" (even though this was a good half hour after we had left the breakfast table when she was adamant she was all done!)

Thea - 11 Months Old

*Tears* My little baby is so close to being 1 - I can hardly believe it.

Like past month, there hasn't been a whole lot of big new developments.  She's cruising around furniture a lot better, and getting into things like crazy!

She still just has the same bottom two little teeth (at least as on her actual 11 month birthday she did!).

Feeding: still eating food like a champ.  She's started getting demanding if she's waiting for you to give her more food and will scream quite loudly!  She also loves just chucking her food on the floor if she doesn't want it...but like a good little doggy, if you leave it on the floor she might come back later for seconds! Haha. Breastfeeding is still going well. She had a bit of a tummy bug this month and then for a few days afterwards wasn't quite feeding the same (not feeding as often, and only from one side at a time), but she's back to normal now.

Sleep: she wakes up earlier than I'd like, but I can't really complain as she naps pretty consistently and goes to bed between 7-7:30.  We had the time change last weekend which threw things off a bit, but she's basically back to normal now (unlike Elle who feels the need to wake up at 5:40am).

The kids love and hate her sometimes!  Every morning Elle runs into the room to see Thea, and in a squeaky voice "hi thea boo boo, you such a big girl thea boo boo!"  They both like to point out when she does big girl things, like standing on her own, driving a little toy car around, etc.  BUT she likes to get right in with them when they play, which sometimes ruins the fun.  I used to be able to send them to the craft table to play up there, but now she can stand up to the table and grab at their things!  So now if they really really want to play something and I can't get her away they have to go to their rooms and close the doors, which Thea does NOT like.

She's starting to throw little tantrums over things now too.  Like if you take one of the kids water bottles away from her (which she can now drink out of on her own as well as sippy cups!), or if she's following the kids to their room and they slam the door in her face (she either screams out in anger, or bursts out crying!)

She still doesn't want to do much walking with the walker or holding onto our hands, but I'm okay with that...although I think Conor wants her to walk before her 1st birthday.  We shall see!

Now to decide if we'll have a big birthday party for her or not...
