My Grandpa owned an '84 Toyota Tercel. When he could no longer drive, my Uncle Jim took it. He lives in Vancouver and would only drive it a few times a month, to come to Abbotsford - so when we moved back to Canada and didn't have a car, he gave it to us. It's been pretty good actually for such an old car...but it's a little iffy - it could go at any time.
Well last week we were driving back from my Grandmas house and the car stalled and wouldn't start again, so we got it towed to the shop. It needed a new distributor (whatever that is). Anyways, we decided to get a quote and decide what to do: whether we should fix it, or just take it as a sign to give it up. Anyways, while we were deciding, someone at the shop went ahead and fixed it when they weren't supposed to!
So we decided that we would drive it for a bit longer, take it by some auto-wreckers and see what they would give us for it. Conor and I were going to go pick it up today, but then my mom called this morning. Apparently someone drove by the shop and saw the car and they have one like it, and want to BUY THE CAR! haha...so it looks like we'll sell it without having to do anything at all!
Anyways, how random is that?? The thing that adds to the randomness is that Conor owned a 1990 Toyota Tercel and when it broke down he had it sitting in the yard at his house. He hadn't gotten around to trying to sell it or anything, but one day Conor's mom was out in the yard and a truck drove by and the guy came up to her and asked her if the car was for sale because he would like to buy it!
